Hello, I have about 5 days to fully decide on which Aetna plan i will go with for the next year and i am unsure what to do. I have been on the Aetna EPO 45/65 which took out around $70 out of my paycheck weekly and allowed me to go to any doctor without any referral. I was able to get two gastroscopies, and septoplasty without any charge. All i had to do was just pay a specialist co-pay of $65. The thing is that i’m in a bit of credit card debt and i am considering on going with the free plan which is Aetna EPO 4000. On this plan i won’t be able to go to any doctor i want, i will have to get my primary doctor to refer me to specialists. On a good note this plan comes with a pre-paid card of $3000 that i can use towards medical expenses. My question now is, if i had EPO 4000 would i still be able to get gastroscopies and septoplasty done for free? I been having some stomach issues and i will most likely need a gastroscopy done in a couple of months and maybe even a colonoscopy. Will i screw myself by going with the EPO 4000? Also will my primary doctor be able to refer me to my current doctors? My gastrologist, chiropractor, and dermatologist that i like? And will i need a referal for each time i go to them? I don’t mind going through the extra loop holes because they do give that $3000 card so none of these visits will be going out of my own pocked. Also is it possible that one plan allows certain surgeries while the other one doesn’t?
I posted the plan comparison on IMGUR, hopefully it is allowed to post
Thank you so much!
