I have developed several health conditions that drastically reduced my ability to work but I haven’t been accepted for disability. I lost insurance in a move and just applied for insurance through healthcare.gov because a friend of mine got it free with a much larger income than I have. I qualified but the lowest cost plan option that only covers catastrophic is priced at $200 a month. Frustrated because if I started taking my prescribed meds again the cost would be upwards of $4000 a month and that plan doesn’t even cover them. Or the mris which I’m supposed to get every 6-8 weeks. Why is mine so much higher than my friends? Other than age (they are older) and income our answers were almost identical. Thank you so much for your help.
