I already have Tricare Prime. Do I need a second insurance?

After retiring from the military, I enrolled in Tricare Prime and pay an annual premium. I was recently hired as a government employee and I’m now invested in finding the ‘right’ health insurance for self plus one. We live in IL.

Transferring from working as a contractor to the government, I had Aetna as an additional insurance (my buddy, whom is also prior military and is now a government employee said he only uses Tricare Prime for his wife and son) . The provider I have is in the Tricare network. Do I need a second insurance?
