Hello!
It looks like I am going fully remote with my company, a small specialist’s office. I’m part of the billing department and I handle EOB data entry, scheduling, benefit checks, claim follow up’s and claim creation. Previously, I had my work computer at home with me but I’ve since moved and in moving, my employer requested that I return the computer and log in remotely via a remote desktop. I would be totally fine with this if it wasn’t for the lag and awkwardness of using a Remote Desktop. So far, it does not lend itself very well to the workload I have.
I’m wondering if anyone has any advice when it comes to HIPPA and just using my personal computer for the tasks above. I live in my own house, with my own wi-fi so I don’t really see what the risks would be?
