Primary Care doctor now Out of Network, no one told me

I’ve been going to a county hospital for all my services for 7 years. My Employer changed our plan from choice to select which means that it’s choice or core based on your region. Well my region is core which doesn’t cover the place I’ve been getting all my services done.

I don’t normally go to the doctor but I’ve been seeing a specialist this year and going once a month. I’ve also seen my primary care doctor a handful of times.

My bills are usually pretty high cause I have a high deductible so I didn’t think anything of it. But even after I hit deductible I still owed $4k. I thought they just didn’t get my last payment, but they did and it’s still $4k on top of that.

After digging I realized this provider is Out of Network and my insurance had changed, etc. That’s how I found out my plan is different. But shouldn’t someone have told me at the hospital that I was going out of Network?

Is there anything I can do about these massive costs? I feel like the first time I went someone should have said they were out of network and ask if I was ok. I just don’t know who I should be talking to, my insurance or the hospital
