Qualifying Live Event Question

My wife and I have made the decision to take her off of my policy to save us several hundred dollars a month and chance not having health insurance for her this year. Yes, I know this is risky and I understand there are potentially devastating financial consequences if something were to happen.

If for some reason we decide that she needs health insurance again, I was wondering if this would work. If she signs up for a month or two for a private policy, and then the coverage ends, would this count as a qualifying life event in order to add her back on to my policy while not in open enrollment. She is a green card holder and I did something like this with travelers health insurance back before she had her green card and was allowed to add her to my policy, but wasn’t sure if it would work now. Thanks.
