I’m trying to begin the gradual process of getting my kids on private insurance. I live in OR where there are 2 different income levels for Medicaid, so I don’t qualify and my kids do. So I have had private insurance through my employer for about a year while my kids have medicaid.
Now, I anticipate that later this year I will probably have a raise that takes both me and my kids above that line. In anticipation of that, I want to enroll them in both dental and med insurance through my employer.
Dental enrollment is this month, and health ins enrollment is in Nov. Will applying to get them on Dental this month interrupt or cause any issues with their medicaid insurance?
My main concern is I don’t want any lapse in either med or dental care, but their enrollment periods are so far apart. But also I don’t want to apply for their dental insurance if it will in some way invalidate their medicaid insurance.
Thanks in advance
