I’m in WV (25801) and I turn 18 in August. My concern is that when I go away for college (WVU) a couple days after my birthday, I won’t be covered on my mother’s medicaid and will have to get my own separate plan or the student health insurance, which will take from my financial aid refund. I am currently enrolled and fully registered.
My family’s income is fixed on SSI of almost $7,000. We get SNAP and other government benefits, like clothing vouchers and HUB.
So my question is: When I turn 18 and go away for college, will I still be covered on my mother’s medicaid? And if yes, until what age or status?
