Pregnancy Medicaid to newborn

So I had reapplied for pregnancy Medicaid earlier this month because I realized with me stopping work due to pregnancy, our income changed and we were below the limit

Thursday (June 17th) I got a phone call to confirm some information and was told to expect a letter in the mail on Monday (June 21st)

My due date was July 22nd.

Well I ended up with preeclampsia and baby girl was born June 21st.

My husband went home to let our dogs out and we got the approval letter in the mail.

But our paperwork says it effective date is June 1st 2021 so I’m assuming that her coming early doesn’t matter?

My husband is bring the paperwork to the hospital and I’m hoping we can add it to my file now and that it will help cover the other hospital visits I’ve had since June.

And if anyone knows, how does pregnancy Medicaid transfer to baby? I’ve always been told pregnancy Medicaid makes baby covered for a year after birth but I have no clue what I’m supposed to do.

I obviously haven’t read the letter yet since my husband is just now on his way back and I’m sure it will explain but now I’m stressing about it 😂
