Why not self-insure with lower ACA Bronze premiums vs Silver?

I’m looking at ACA plans for my parents (55/57 years old) comparing between the Bronze and Silver and there’s a ~$300/month difference between the two plans. Even if they were to see a doctor a couple times in a year, wouldn’t it be better to pick the bronze plan and put the $300/month into a savings account for health purposes only (up to the max oop)? Am I missing something?

Plan Subsidy Monthly Cost Deductible OOP Max

BCBSIL FocusCare Bronze $995 $5.98 Individual: Participating $7,400 Family: Participating $17,100 Individual: Participating $8,550 Family: Participating $17,100

BCBSIL FocusCare Silver $995 309.05 Individual: Participating $4,150 Family: Participating $12,450 Individual: Participating $8,550 Family: Participating $17,100
