Why is my health insurance paying when my deductible has not been met yet?

I am finally trying to understand health insurance. My Cigna deductible is $700

I’ve been going to doctors and having lab tests. My insurance has been covering most of it. But Why??

If the definition of deductible is

“A deductible is the amount you need to spend before your insurance coverage begins.”

Why is my insurance paying anything at all if I have not met my deductible?

Thanks
