Hello all,
I’m currently attempting to sign up for dental (as well as general ACA) insurance for the first time. I’ve aged out of my parent’s insurance plan and, after going about a year without any coverage, have finally found myself in a situation where insurance is absolutely necessary. I’m currently 27 years old and make approximately 25k/year (though that will change when I go back to school in the fall).
I chipped a tooth about two weeks ago and, while it isn’t causing me any discomfort, I’d like to get it taken care of as soon as possible. I was told that Guardian Direct might be a good option- I’m also planning on enrolling for health insurance via ACA but I’ll likely select a basic plan that won’t cover dental due to financial constraints- but I wanted some more feedback before committing to a definite course of action.
So I suppose my main questions are:
Is Guardian Direct a reliable resource for procuring affordable dental work?
Are there other options I should be considering (those without waiting periods or with better coverage)?
And finally, one general ACA question:
Are there any rules that should guide my search for a health insurance policy? I’m not exactly fluent in insurance terminology but, as I understand it, my goal is to find a plan that makes sense for my needs with a low premium and deductible.
Please let me know if any additional information would help to answer any of these questions. Thank you in advance for any advice- it’s all very much appreciated.
