Misquoted

Hi all,

I had surgery in October and was shocked when I received the bill. It was about $18,000. I expected it to be a few thousand. Before having the surgery I called to verify the cost and what I would be responsible for. They failed to inform me that the surgery was part of their reference based pricing program and that if the hospital decided to charge more than the amount my insurance paid I would be stuck with the rest. I called my insurance company and let them know about the phone call, they reviewed it and found that I was misquoted and they were going to adjust the claim. I was told it would be 30-45 days for the adjustment to be complete. It has been well over 45 business days. Are there any laws against this? Is there anything I can do to get them to get this done? Even though the review is in my favor, I am still stressed and nervous over this. It has been quite the stressful ordeal. My insurance is in Oregon, and my surgery was in Oregon. The company is Moda. Thanks!
