Debating New Employer Health and Dental Insurance

The company I am currently contract at is considering onboarding me, but I am not sure how long-term that would be (as “limited service” roles exist). I just got the benefits brochure, but the plans are strangely balanced. Screenshot the important bits, including biweekly deductions. Thankfully I am single, as the company bans working spouses and changes far more for Family and E+Spouse rates than E+Children (limit 5, if non-biological).

Medical Summary

Expanded Rx

I feel like I should get the HSA, especially with the 2021 changes, but I’m not sure how post-deductible care works except for Rx and OON service (likely outside MN’s laws, not sure if VA’s apply). I’m not on any expensive prescriptions or regiments, which is what the HRA seems to have going for it.

On the Dental Side, I currently have a $2.5k limit MetLife plan that costs $130/quarterly. I got that plan because it covers implants and maintenance (e.g. ADA 1080), but I am not sure it’s worth keeping. Most MN prosthodontists are out of network, and my situation is likely too complex for a dentist. My current prosthodontist is retiring, so I am thinking of going to a general dentist and getting a new referral for the implant maintenance.

New Employer Dental

That plan is also $2k but I am not sure implants would be covered as it only explicitly mentions orthodontics and dentures. If it is pre-tax, there might be other benefits to it besides being cheap. Presumably, global (multi-year) billing would apply and Oral Surgery should be covered as Major Services. Other thought would be going to a Periodontist, which there are quite a few of in-network, for the implant maintenance.
