I am trying to assist my family with getting coverage for my niece who requires ABA therapy in New York City.
Currently, she is under her grandmother’s guardianship, and has been given Medicaid Manage Care (under UnitedHealthcare).
Most of the places we spoke to say they take Medicaid, but not Medicaid Manage Care.
I was looking to see if I could perhaps purchase a PPO for her (like from Aetna), but then I thought she might lose the Medicaid in addition to other social security benefits.
What would be the best options to look at in this situation?
NY Marketplace is confusing, and each agent on the phone is giving us conflicting information.
