Hi all! Heres my situation. Live in NY. Im pregnant, with a complicated pregnancy that will require me to stay home at least 4-5 months after c section, so i cant work just yet (pharmacist here, and remote jobs are nonexistent, no one will hire me now at 8 months pregnant anyways). My medicaid is going to end soon cause of income, my husband now makes 75k a year. I wont qualify for medicaid. His job offers $300 off insurance, so if he enrolls in their aetna plan, for the 3 of us, it will be around $1200 a month. We cant afford that as our one bedroom rental in new york is $2500 (rent is psychotic here), thats basically the whole paycheck when u put insurance and apartment together. I spoke with a representative at nys of health marketplace that gave me an option for obamacare affordable insurance, with our income it would cost at least 800-1000 a month with a 15,000 deductible after govt aid. Again, we cant afford it. We are middle class i think, but its almost cheaper for us to be poorer…. What options are there? Cant get temporary insurance cause they dont cover routine visits and i have a heart condition, i see a specialist. Any advice? I appreciate all the help i can get!
