I’ve been on an HMO all my life and now have a PPO. I’m confused how primary care works now. I understand that I can now directly see a specialist but who do I see for general health (like say a cough)? Am I looking for family medicine/primary care/internal medicine at that point?
All the insurance search tools seem to be focused on finding a specialist which is causing me confusion.
