Hey everyone, I’m about to get a new job and the company I would be working for showed me their health plans, and it’s roughly 700 a month! With like a $2,000 deductible! This seems outrageous to me. I’m a single person without any serious health problems. I’ve been unemployed through the pandemic and on Mass-health the whole time, which is basically free everything. Prescriptions cost me $5, doctor’s visits cost $0.
Before the pandemic I worked aboard and had cheap insurance through my foreign employer. I don’t have much experience with health insurance in the US….is there a way to get it cheaper? It’s seems crazy to me that health insurance costs this much AND I still have to pay a bunch out of pocket if I even get prescriptions or see a doctor. I wish I could just keep my Mass-health but I know I will make too much money to qualify. Does anyone know how I can get cheaper but still decent health insurance? I see most people pay $150-300 a month. Thanks for any input!
