Hey all, rather confused by my Dental plan that is included with my Ambetter health insurance (through the marketplace). Last year I was have a heck of a time trying to find an optometrist, and now it is happening again when I’m trying to find a dentist.
Envolve (which manages these “side” insurances for Ambetter) will say a place is in network, but the place will say that they are not. When it happened with the Optometrist, the website said they were in network. Called up the place, they said not. I called up the insurance company and the insurance rep said the place was definitely in network. When I went for my appointment they said they’d submit the claim, but turns out ultimately they were not and I had to pay in full.
Now as I’m trying to call around for dentists, I am just believing the places when they say they are not in network. I’ve called half a dozen of the 37 places, and each one has said no. Like… I guess the only thing I can do is call every single place until I find one? I don’t know if it is because Envolve manages it, but as soon as they hear “Ambetter” they say they are not in network.
Do you wonderful people have any other suggestion about what I should be doing? Thanks!
