Help Selecting New Insurance Plan

Allina Aetna EPO Elevate
Single $37.82 Family $311.92 Deductible in-network $0, Out Network: No coverage Max out of Pocket $7000

Blue Cross Blue Shield HDHP Select
Single $24.34 Family $316.28 ($600 single and $1200 family contribution) Deductible Single $1400 Family $2800 Max family out of pocket $8000

Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO First
Single $51.33 Family $319.74 Deductible S $300, F $600, Out of Network: No coverage Max family out of pocket $7000

For a little backstory. I (M31, Dad) will be doing single coverage until open enrollment. Then during OE we will add our then 7 mo old to my plan and I guess allow my wife to be double insured.

Both Mom and I are healthy and baby is health so far. We live in Minnesota

We do annual check ups, minimal medication needs, maybe an Urgent care visit or two during cold and flu season.

My biggest concern is the unknown about baby’s potential medical expenses. The $2800 deductible would not be an issue if we needed to pay. Plus I plan on being at this organization for a long time and in theory loading up on the employer contribution. So as I type this out I am leaning towards the Select HDHP plan with making ~150-200$ contribution each month.

TIA for all the advice. Despite working in healthcare I am a dummy when it comes to insurance. I only know how to bill for my services. I will be checking this thread tomorrow.

Cheers everyone!
