The struggle with Kaiser. How to get the healthcare I need.

My job provides us with Kaiser. It’s free which is nice, but actually getting care is a nightmare. I need a surgery and kaiser does not have the specialist in house. Are they willing to cover an out of network doctor for the surgery? I’ve already filed a complaint with the doctor that I saw for the consultation who turned out to not be capable of helping me.

I’m also low on my anxiety medication and I cannot get a refill unless I see someone in person and the next appointment is in September. I made the appointment last month. I’ve just been rationing pills, but I don’t know what else to do.

If I cannot get coverage from Kaiser, there is a specialist who works for cedar sinai and he works with their financial aid program. I qualify for fully covered care with their program, would it be okay to go that route and just forego using my insurance?
