Hello r/HealthInsurance, I’m currently considering a job offer from a company based in California. I live in Massachusetts. The health insurance plans are with Anthem Blue Cross of California.
I’m considering a PPO plan but I’m afraid that few, if any, healthcare providers near me will accept this new insurance. Or put another way, I feel like everything in Massachusetts will be “out of network”. I’m a bit confused how this should all work.
Wondering if someone here can help clarify and/or explain where to go to get answers. I’m considering contacting Anthem but I could also call my family’s doctors.
The deductibles are higher for out of network providers but I’m not sure what else would be different. I find the plan guides to be bewildering.
