I logged into my Cigna account tonight to see covered providers for a service. It said my coverage has been inactive since 9/30/2020. I looked through recent paystubs which said I had been charged ~$72 per check for medical. I emailed the HR director, but it was 9pm on a Sunday so I don’t expect an immediate response. I’m going to ask coworkers tomorrow to see if they are having the same issue.
Not sure if it’s too relevant, but my company did offer a switch to another provider a month and a half before my coverage ended. It was only an offer though, they said we could stay with Cigna if we wanted.
My questions are: 1. By collecting the medical deduction from paycheck, does my company assume responsibility for the policy if there is some mistake on their part? (I only care about crazy things for this like getting a bad case of covid or a bad accident). 2. Am I entitled to reimbursement for the roughly 9 or 10 months where I have been charged but haven’t coverage? 3. Should I expect a quick resolution, and are there options to pursue while it is resolved?
Thanks all.
