Kind of a mouthful of a title, but I’m comparing the health insurance plans I have at work, and some plans will use a set rate and some will use a percentage. Example, Plan A Urgent Care out of pocket cost, $50. Plan B, 5%. How can I know which is better other than looking up the average cost for each procedure listed? Is either flat rate or percentage commonly thought to be better or does that tend to vary? There are no specific services I intend to use on a recurring basis, just trying to compare emergency costs.
