First time EPO question

I bought an EPO plan recently and called my assigned PCP, they said I don’t need to go through them to get a tests such as blood work or MRI.

I come from HMO, I needed referrals for everything. Do PCP people find their own specialists? I need an MRI with dye. I’m supposed to know what dye and what MRI machine I can get for my check up?

or do I just go an MRI specialist and tell them what’s up and they’ll figure it out for me, like pull up the last test I did. But then who analyzes it? The specialist?

I’m confused as to whether I’m supposed to go to someone who deals with the body part specifically or just get the tests done, then go to the specialist.
