Changing Dental insurance plans mid way through benefit year??

My husband and I are both currently enrolled in a dental plan provided by my employer. The plan runs from July 2021 until June 2022. My husband is planning on maxing out the benefits ($1,500 pay out limit) by the end of December. I plan on leaving my job in January, which means I will lose my dental insurance for both of us. We plan on enrolling into his dental insurance as soon as I leave my job. (We can because it will be a qualifying event). Since we won’t have been enrolled on MY insurance for a full year, but we did max out the insurance payout, will there be a penalty or something?? Thanks in advance!
