Primary/Secondary Health Insurance Question

I will be starting a new job soon that offers a high deductible plan at no cost. I was wondering if my spouse and dependents are covered by my spouse’s employer, would applying to my employer’s no cost high deductible plan as a family coverage be a good idea?

I am assuming my employer’s coverage would be primary and then my spouse’s would be secondary through coordination of benefits? I was just wondering how this would impact my spouse and our dependents if I added them as family with my employer’s insurance. I know it won’t be secondary for my spouse but will it be secondary for our dependents?

Just wondering if it’s a good idea to do since it’s no cost, but a little iffy about the whole coordination of benefits. If my insurance doesn’t cover a particular service, will then my spouse insurance cover it and Vice versa? Ideally, we would want all services to be picked up by my spouse’s insurance because it isn’t high deductible (copay plan).

Thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks in advanced if you replied.
