Context: My health insurance is through HBCBS of NJ. I live in Pennsylvania, however, but still use this insurance. It’s linked to my dads place of work, which is in NJ.
Hey y’all, I’m expecting a phone call from my health insurance provider tomorrow or this week (but soon). My health insurance keeps giving me conflicting answers regarding the status of a pre-authorization status for a much needed medical procedure. It’s very stressful when I don’t know who to trust when the representatives tell me different conflicting things (like you’re approved/not approved depending on who I speak with), and when I don’t know how to hold them accountable for misinformation.
I expect this phone call to potentially get a little heated, so I’d like to record the conversation.
Can I record the phone call? Do I need to tell them I am recording? What do I need to do to be able to use the recording in a legal setting?
If I can’t record, how else can I hold what my insurance says to be accountable? They will NOT give me answers in writing. I have asked.
