Hey y’all,
I have BlueCross Blueshield Texas- Health Select. Due to being a same-sex couple and pcos, I asked OBGYN to refer me to fertility clinic. They were onboard. They sent a referral, but they told me (I confirmed with my insurance) that my PCP needed to refer me.
I reach out to my PCP, they send a referral. I call the fertility clinic to set up appt, the first call they say they don’t have the authorization number. I look at the referral letter and get the authorization number to the fertility clinic. The fertility clinic says, cool, we’ll process it now. I call the next day to try to schedule again. This time, they say they need clinic notes but won’t clarify if it has to be by my PCP or OBGYN. I’m trying to reach out to both to try to get them from both.
The fertility clinic gives me a call today stating they don’t have a referral in their records but don’t need a referral anyways. They finally set up my first appt.
I’m just worried that I’m going to show up and say that they are having issues with insurance. Is there anything that I can do to make sure this issue won’t happen? Should I leave it alone?
