Hello,
My mother recently went to the Emergency Room at Memorial Herman in Houston due to stomach pain.
The doctors ran a number of diagnostic tests and said that she has gall stones and they were concerned that the gallstones were moving and could block the bile duct and go into the liver. They transferred her to their main hospital and ran further tests – they also required her to stay in the hospital for 3 nights while they continued to run tests and keep her under observation.
On the fourth day, they determined that the stone(s) had passed and that they felt comfortable discharging her.
Fast forward 8 days letter, we got a letter from CHC indicating that all claims are being denied because their physician determined that none of this was medically necessary.
How does one handle this situation?
Everything that she did was based on the doctors recommendation and she was sent to an ER that was already at capacity due to the doctors concern that this situation was critical.
Please see denial: https://ibb.co/hLVLxKh
