I’m new with my employer and I’m trying to figure out which healthcare plan to pick. I have the following options:
Atena HSA 1, HSA 2, HSA 3
They’re all generally the same, Health savings accounts, just higher deductible costs. The most expensive one is $29/biweekly and $3600 annual contribution with an annual $500 employer contribution. This obviously would cost me a lot to meet the annual contribution and I doubt I’d set aside much at all each month. Im a healthy young male, don’t see myself getting sick. Both plans cover annual check ups and physicals, and drugs.
The “HSA 1” is a $1400 deductible and 20% coinsurance for most services after deductible is met.
Other option:
EPO.
Atena Hybrid plan: $14/biweekly, $4000 deductible. $20-$25 copay for office visits, free lab tests/X-rays, free check up and physical each year, but most all services require me to meet the $4000 deductible before they pay anything but then it’s $0 out of pocket cost. Assuming I have a major surgery that $4000 should be wiped away right away.
Downside- not saving money for health savings, but I’ve always been on PPO type plans and never actually had a HSA. Seems like I’d be spending more per month and having to save money each month for the HSA vs just having it paid for by the insurance provider, assuming deductible is met.
I do have vision snd dental but those are cheap, which does have copay (I know I can use my HSA for those copays if I opted for such plan). my main question is for which health plan to pick.
No family, single, healthy male in 30’s. What should I go with?
