My significant other and I just had a baby, we are looking into getting a health insurance policy for our child and my significant other (excluding myself). My significant other is eligible for subsidies based on her income alone. We have a home together, and share a domestic life per the definition of domestic partner on healthcare.gov (https://www.healthcare.gov/glossary/domestic-partnership/#:~:text=Two%20people%20of%20the%20same,joined%20by%20a%20civil%20union.)
Helthcare.gov states to include your domestic partner in your household income if you have a baby together (https://www.healthcare.gov/income-and-household-information/household-size/).
However, it does not specify if you can exclude your significant other from your household income if you are not a registered domestic partnership. There is no clarification if you should must be registered or not.
Is anyone aware if you have to include your significant other in your household income if you fit the definition of a domestic partnership, but are not registered as domestic partners?
