Hi all. I was unemployed early this year and enrolled in Medi-Cal during that time. I’m now self-employed and have reported an income change to the DPSS which means that my case has to be redetermined now. My monthly income is below the threshold so I still quality, but I need to submit my latest bank statement for them to verify my income.
I spoke to an agent today but forgot to ask them a couple questions. I hope someone can help me so that I don’t have to call back tomorrow.
Can I hide any personal transactions from the bank statement and only highlight the income deposits, or am I not allowed to remove any transactions (even purchases, bills, etc.) Can I hide my checking/saving account balance or does that need to be visible too?
I have around $2k saved from the stimulus checks and I don’t want them to think that’s too high of a number. I’m also concerned that my “total monthly deposit” is above my reported monthly income because my roommate Zelle’s me half of the rent money (I use my bank account to pay it online). Although that’s not income, I’m worried they will wonder why I have a lump sum of money coming in every month if I’m not reporting it.
Thanks in advance!
