Long story short, my girlfriend needs an MRI and has a plan through her work. They approved the MRI and has an appt scheduled for monday. The insurance is telling her that her portion of it will be $1400-2000.
She called the place doing imaging and reading (not sure if hospital or stand alone facilitt) and got a quote as an inunsured, $200 imaging and $421 for reading, totaling $621+ taxes.
Is there a department we can call either at this facility or her insurance company to get a more straight forward price on the insured option? If not can we pay the uninsured price, then submit the bill to insurance for reimbursement?
It is hard to believe that she is paying $200+/month for insurance yet has to pay 2x+ for the same procedure through her insurance rather than just pay cash.
Thanks for any input, direction, or resources you can point my way!
