We have private insurance (not through employer). My baby has been in Neonatal ICU for more than 3 months due to being born premature and has already passed the due date. I have noticed the doctor changed the course of treatment to a radical solution which was not mentioned to us prior. We suspect is for insurance purposes because they changed attitude immediately after due date making up reasons that do not make sense for us. My baby is doing slow good progress every week. Can insurance stop coverage and force the hospital to pay after a certain time has passed with no or little progress on patient health? If so what should I do in this case, will hospital bill me for the balance not covered? Up to now all are fully covered from insurance.
Thank you
