Like the title says, my new psychiatrist is saying that they don’t get paid if payments are made through your insurance provider website. I have never had an issue with this before, so I am a little confused and concerned I am going to get double charged for the first appointment I had. Is this actually a real thing? Or is this specific psychiatrist just preferring direct payments due to tax reasons or something?
For reference, I have paid for multiple other appointments through my insurance website with no complaints from other healthcare providers saying they did not receive payment.
Thank you!
