Hi. My insurance denied a claim from a doctors visit–they state that their contract with the provider does not include the CPT code that the provider used in the bill. They invited the provider to rebill using a different CPT but the provider never did and missed their deadline to rebill. The providers billing place has not been very helpful or motivated to get this resolved or look into this for me.
I have a letter from insurance explaining this to me and it states that I am not obligated to pay the bill, as the provider was contracted with them but that this service was not in their contract.
The provider however is still telling me that I need to pay the bill. I have shown them the letter from insurance stating that I do not need to pay.
I am not sure who is right but I cannot get anyone at the provider’s office to look into this. They just keep telling me to pay
QUESTION: IS THERE A ENTITY THAT I CAN COMPLAIN TO, when insurance is saying they can’t bill me for this but the doctors office is saying they can? Thanks
