Hello, I am in dire need of some help.
My wife has had no insurance her entire life (23yrs), and I have not had an employer that offers benefits until now. I started a new job (9/20/2021) that offers healthcare benefits to my wife and me, but it will not be effective until 10/20/2021.
During my wife’s entire life there has been no need to go to the hospital until the beginning of the month where it was completely necessary to take her to the ER. She went to the hospital 2 times (9/1/2021 & 9/16/2021). For those 2 visits we racked up a total of around $12,500 and we want to know if there is any way to defer those visits so that they can be covered under my new insurance.
Any information or suggestion helps; I will be going to the hospital on my next day off to discuss any of these options with them.
