Employee Sponsored Family Coverage Way Too Expensive?

I got a new job recently (state of MO) and I absolutely love it, basically my dream job and everything is wonderful except their sponsored insurance. Cheapest place if it’s just me? $180/month. Not terrible. Cheapest plan if I add my stay at home wife and newborn daughter? Just over $900/month. And that’s for an HSA backed plan that covers very little.

I’ve tried to apply through private insurance like Cigna or UHC and they say they’re cheaper(around $300/month), but they always say my wife and child “May be eligible for Medicaid” and refuse to let me continue their portion of the application saying “We will receive information in the mail”. I have tried applying 3 times in 2 months and have not received a single piece of information about Medicaid. I don’t know where to go from here. I have 42 days to enroll and I just can’t afford $900/month in insurance on $3,600/month in income. It’s more than my rent.

Any advice on what I need to do to get all 3 of us on a third-party plan or how to get them on this supposed Medicaid they “may qualify for” would be greatly appreciated.

Also if I need to change the flair please let me know, this is my first post.

Ages: 25(Me), 23(Wife), 0(newborn)

Zipcode: 64057

Income: $21/hr about $44k/yr
