I’ve had Kaiser Permanente (WA) for a couple years now, and changed my health plan tier in July. I had autopay set up for my account, but apparently your first payment on any new/updated plan has to be manual; I didn’t know that and missed three month’s payments and they terminated my account.
I know it’s my fault and that I messed up by not being on top of this, but are there any chances I can get my plan reinstated and the past couple months covered? I’ve gone ahead and paid all the premiums I missed, for what it’s worth.
This is kind of a nightmare situation for me, I’m currently being treated for cancer and if I have to pay without coverage for the past three months it’d take more than I have saved. What’s ironic is my missed premiums are quite low compared to what I’ve been paying out of pocket recently for treatment as well.
Going to try to call them first thing tomorrow, but I figure it’s worth asking if any of you have experience with similar situations.
