Hello!
My father has some serious back problems that required surgery and resulted in constant pain which forced him to retire on disability.
I overhear him struggling on the phone at least once a week with his insurance, as they seem to say a procedure is approved, then the cost comes back different and his claims get partially or fully denied, or some other mishaps.
Are there any patient advocate services that he could seek? He told me he would pay someone to help him navigate through all these phone calls, but I don’t know how the insurance works either and I detest being on phone calls like that in general. Any advice??
As a note, I think he has medicare. We are located in CA.
