Kaiser Grievance?

I’ve had more than enough of dealing with the Kaiser mental health system. Does anyone know how I can file a grievance with Kaiser Southern California? Or a faster way than emailing my doctor to get some immediate attention? I would simply change insurance providers if I had an option but as a teacher I don’t really have that choice.

At the beginning of September, I had a mental health crisis. (I’ve been dealing with this for 3 years, but this is the most recent situation) early September I called saying I needed to talk to my counselor because I was having a crisis, not to the point of hurting myself, but still enough of a reason to talk to a doctor. They said the earliest they would be able to see me was December. I told them that was unacceptable and so they found an appointment for October 26th. Later that weekend (in September) I got a call from a nurse, offering to up my medication dosage. I thought my meds were useless so I agreed to it. No psychiatrist discussed this with me. Just a nurse who put in a new prescription order. And within the week I had a prescription filled and an appointment for a month away.

Flash forward to today. I get a call at 6:45 am saying they have to cancel my appointment for today but since I have an appointment in December, they’ll just see me then.

Now it wasn’t my finest hour, but I pretty much lost my collective shit on the appointment operator. I know she didn’t have any control over the situation, but the best I could get out of her was “email your doctor and we will forward it to a manager”

Last year during the Pandemic(which I get, threw everyone for a loop and were scrambling to figure out how to provide services for their members…. I know this more than most as a public school teacher) I had to wait between 2 and 3 months every time to talk to my Kaiser counselor because “there were no available appointments”

Now if I were to switch health care providers with my district (we have two options) I would have to pay triple what I pay for Kaiser. Between my rent and healthcare alone, I would be in the red every month. So switching is not an option.

Can anyone give me some insights? What has worked for you, etc?
