I know this scenario will sound crazy but dealing with an extremely petty and high-conflict ex-wife. My husband is court ordered to provide insurance on his kids, which he does. Ex-wife opted to have her new husband cover the children as well. They are to equally split any remaining medical bill. She is trying to demand that all providers run DH’s insurance first and then him pay half of the balance owed and THEN run her new husband’s insurance and refund her the money. So basically she wants my husband to pay out of pocket to her for what the other insurance is going to cover. Is this a thing? Can she pick and choose when and how the insurance applies?
