Will a diagnosis of skin cancer prevent me from ever being accepted by my husband-to-be’s insurance? (California)

I’m currently on state assistance insurance (Medi-Cal, for California) and planning to see a dermatologist in the coming days about a mark on my nose that I worry might be a basal cell carcinoma. My fiance and I have been planning on getting a quick marriage at the county courthouse sometime this month or next for health insurance reasons. (We’ve been together for 15+ years, we figure we might as well just get it on paper finally.)

However, I’m worried that if I did go get a diagnosis of bcc next week, would that be a pre-existing condition that my to-be husband’s health insurance would deny covering me for? (If it’s just a matter of days here, should I just marry, get on his insurance, and then go get the worrisome skin condition checked out?)

I know the sensible thing if the question of cancer is involved is go get it handled ASAP, but I’m pretty salty about the whole “we can deny you for pre-existing conditions” thing… would that mean I’d be stuck on state insurance for the rest of my life if this thing does turn out to be cancer?

Apologies in advance, I know just about nothing when it comes to insurance.
