I have several options with my employers plan and the one i am currently considering is confusing me.
This is the plan
Question Answer Overall Deductible $250 Out of Pocket Limit Medical $2,500 / Prescription Drugs $2,000 Primary Care Visit to treat Injury or illness $30 copay/visit Specialist Visit $50 copay Diagnostic Test (x-ray, bloodwork) 0% coinsurance Imaging (CT/PET scans, MRIs) 0% coinsurance
What I dont understand here is that once i meet my $250 deductible, i start paying copay.
but if i understand correctly, copay is a 1 time cost, which also doesnt apply to out of pocket max.
so once I hit my deductible, and have to go see, lets say a specialist, i would only pay $50 for any reason.
so why what does having an out of pocket max do for me here?
