Healthcare.gov Special Enrollment period – how does the deductible work? [FL]

TLDR: When you enroll during the special enrollment period, does the deductible amount roll over to next year?

I’m enrolling in health insurance on healthcare.gov. Since I moved to Florida at the beginning of October and left the job thru which I had insurance, it says I qualify for the special enrollment period. I’m trying to get insurance that will start December 1st.

The thing I am struggling to understand is, how does the deductible work if you sign up during a special enrollment period? Will my health insurance plan roll into the new year? The only information I was able to get when I called is that I will need to enroll in my 2022 plan separately with a different application.

Specifically, I’m wondering if the deductible amount I need to meet resets in January. For example, if a plan has a $1500 deductible, and I end up having to pay up to $1500 expenses in December, will I then reset back to 0 in January and have to spend $1500 again before the health insurance pays for anything? If that’s the case then obviously I would want to select a plan that has a $0 deductible, right?

I tried calling the help number on healthcare dot gov, but was told I’d have to ask the specific plan administrators. So I ended up calling one of the health insurance companies, and they bounced me to another department, and then that department transferred me right back to the healthcare phone number.

Thank you in advance for any help!!
