Traditional or HDHP employee health plan for childbirth

Hello all, it’s open enrollment, and my partner and I are having a baby early next year 2022, and have other chronic health needs. Last year we had HDHP/HSA, maxed out our HSA contribution, met the $4,000 deductible, and had (almost) everything covered 100% after that. I hope it would be the same situation with childbirth, that is, completely covered after hitting the deductible. I don’t know what costs would look like with the traditional plan, if there would be additional expenses for childbirth after hitting the $2,000 deductible. Regardless, looking at the differences with the annual cost ($2,828 cheaper premiums with HDHP), and lower OOP maximum, it seems like HDHP/HSA would be the way to go again this year. I am wondering if there’s anything I am missing in considering these options? Employer does not contribute to our HSA. Thank you in advance for any opinions!

Biweekly cost Annual Cost Hospital/Diagnostics Copays PCP/Spec/ER Coinsurance Deductible OOP max Traditional (No Referral needed) $354.91 $9227.66 After Deductible $20/35/150 100% $2000 $11000 Traditional (Referrals needed) $341.81 $8887.06 After Deductible $20/35/150 100% $2000 $11000 HDHP/HSA $233.04 $6059.04 After Deductible After Deductible 100% $4000 $8000
