First, I think I “screwed up” by not reporting the life change when I got the new job. With the way the money works out though, I only hurt myself (ouch), as I’m qualified for a much bigger PTC with the new job. That’s not the purpose of the post though.
Anyway, with 4 kiddos, 2 with regular specialists and medications, I decided to avoid the headache of switching plans earlier this year with the job change. Now I’m reenrolling in marketplace but was wondering if what it would look like to try to get coverage on my employer’s plan.
It’s 7 months since I started and my wife has since become pregnant with #5 (Yeah, we’ll play your basketball team. Bring it!). **Is the timeframe or the pregnancy an issue for having my employer’s plan to pick us up?**
Also, coincidentally, both the plan I really like on marketplace and my employer’s plan are both United Health Care.
Due to my employee agreement, the way the money shakes out on this is kind of wonky, and Marketplace would actually be the best financial decision. But, regardless, please let me know how you read my overall situation and respond specifically to the starred question above.
Thank you.
