I know I’ve asked this on here before but I’m just completely confused. I’ve been trying to apply for my states (kentucky) income based Medicaid but whenever I call people act like my non taxable structured settlement counts as income. I’ve tried calling people who are supposed to set it up and the main office alike and I get the standard “I think it counts where it’s an annuity and you get it monthly.” but after looking at the operations manual for my states magi Medicaid they say that income that doesn’t have a federal tax requirement is excluded which my structured settlement does not have any tax requirements and even though annuities count, a regular annuity is typically taxable and structured different than a structured settlement under tax codes. It makes no sense and I don’t know who to call and i feel like my health issues are devolving into a stomach ulcer but I don’t want to seek treatment until I get the health insurance lined out should I continue to call in or call the state omsbudsman and run that service manual excerpt by them? Thanks for any and all insight!
