My coverage through COBRA has just ended and my new plan is not starting until January 1. People have thrown out “short term insurance” but, for several reasons, I have had a tough time getting through to someone who might sell me such a thing and I am now worried about the possibility of obtaining coverage for the coming weeks. Is it possible to buy insurance, for the short term, and have coverage before the first of the following month?
